WHO WE ARE
We, the Lovers of the Holy Cross of Los Angeles, are a community of Catholic women religious, committed to deepening our relationship with Jesus Christ through a life of prayer, sacrifice, and service.
We are one of the thirty Congregations of Lovers of the Holy Cross originating in Vietnam, founded by a French Bishop and missionary, Pierre Lambert de la Motte, in 1670.
"Attain a realistic love for the Cross of the Son of God"
Bishop Lambert de la Motte
Imitating Jesus Christ Crucified, we continue His salvific mission through our intercessory life of prayer, sacrifice, and service so all may experience God's love and conversion of hearts.
Transformed by Christ Crucified, bring hope and joy.
PRAYER: We contemplate Jesus Christ Crucified and share in His suffering for the salvation of souls.
SERVICE: With a missionary spirit, we are sent by the Community as visible hands of Christ to build up the Church and society.
COMMUNITY: United with Jesus Christ Crucified, we joyfully live together in the spirit of love and sacrifice.
MORTIFICATION: Dying to ourselves, we joyfully manifest a practical love for Christ Crucified.
